This Ole Recipe Box

One of my most prized possessions is an old wooden recipe box from my mother-in-law.

She gave it to my husband after he landed his first “real world” job.

It’s filled with 54 hand-written recipes and surprise notes. One tells him that a colander is “that thing w/holes in it.” His Dad said, “He’s not going to cook any of that anyway and it’s ridiculous to even ship.”

While that might be true, I wasn’t going to let this treasure trove collect dust in the back of the pantry.

I’m cooking my way through it, documenting the culinary journey via Stories.

*Note, I am not a professional cook though I do know what a colander is.
